India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Mahendra Singh Dhoni‘s Indian team for their 95-run victory against England at Lord’s. India recorded a Test victory at Lord’s after 28 years and broke the winless drought in England of seven years. Modi hailed the victory on his twitter account and said that it was a “wonderful” victory and that India is proud of their performance.
India were led by Ishant Sharma on Day Five as his figures of seven for 74. On a green surface, India’s pacers outshone the opposition and recorded a memorable victory on the day. India are now 1-0 up in the series and will go into the third Test at Southampton with their spirits high.
