India beat Pakistan in ACC Women’s Asia Cup T20 Final at Asian Institute of Technology Ground at Bangkok by 17 runs. This is also India’s sixth consecutive Asia Cup title. Many cricketers, politicians and cricket experts took to twitter to congratulate the Indian eves on this achievement. Mithali Raj was the star for India as she notched up an unbeaten 73 off 65 deliveries, which included seven fours and a six. As a result of Mithali’s innings, India managed to post 121 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. Barring Mithali, only Jhulan Goswami got into double figures with the bat. Anam Amin was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan Women, finishing with figures of 2 for 24 in her four overs. In reply, Pakistan Women made a good, positive start to their innings. Pakistan Women had already lost once to India Women in the tournament and were determined to ensure that it does not repeat. They were going at run-a-ball without losing any wicket till the fourth over, but Jhulan struck in the fifth over to remove opener Ayesha Zafar for 15. Pakistan kept losing wickets at regular intervals and found themselves in deep trouble at 81 for 6 in the 16th over. Nida Dar and Sana Mir played out the remaining overs, but did not pose any threat as India Women completed a relatively easy win over their arch-rivals.
