India bowl West Indies out for 243 on Day 3, 1st Test; enforce follow-on

India have enforced the follow-on and will hope to get a few more wickets before stumps.

West Indies have been bowled out for 243 on Day 3 of the first Test against India at Antigua. Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav were the pick of the bowlers, finishing with 5 and 4 wickets respectively. This is Shami’s third five-wicket haul and the second one against West Indies. India now have a lead of  323 and not surprisingly, have enforced the follow-on. India will like to pick up a few wickets by the end of the day, which will put West Indies in serious trouble going into the fourth day. Jason Holder and wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich offered some resistance and in fact adeed over 50 for the eighth wicket. Holder then played a rash shot outside off edged one to Wriddhiman Saha behind the wickets. Carlos Brathwaite then walked in at No. 10 and was bowled off the very first delivery as he looked to leave a ball outise off. The ball came back sharply and hit Brathwaite’s wickets. West Indies resumed the final session of the day at 157 for 7. Kraigg Brathwaite was just dismissed caught behind just before the tea break for 74. Barring him, no other top order batsman really applied himself. Indian bowlers to their credit bowled well and picked up wickets at regular intervals. India had scored 566 for 8 in their first innings, courtest of a double century from Virat Kohi and a ton from Ravichandran Ashwin. Bishoo and Kraigg Brathwaite were the two successful bowlers with three wickets a piece.
