India reach 250/3 at Tea as Virender Sehwag departs

Riding on a blazing century by Virender Sehwag, India reached 250 for the loss of three wickets at Tea at Ahmedabad on Thursday as Graeme Swann became the most successful off-spinner for England surpassing Jim Laker. Cheteshwar Pujara was unbeaten on 68 runs.
Gautam Gambhir was the first dismissal for India in the first session. Sehwag’s sparkling century, however, took India’s score past 200. The dashing opener ended his two-year drought of centuries with this innings. He was eventually dismissed by Swann after scoring 117 runs.
Sehwag’s dismissal brought Sachin Tendulkar to the crease. He managed to score just 13 runs before Swann scalped his third wicket of the day.
Earlier, India reached a score of 120 runs without losing a wicket in the first session with the help of blistering fifty by Sehwag. Both openers, Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir ,scored crisply as earlier, Indian captain MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first. Sehwag was in punishing mood as he scored 15 runs in one of Tim Bresnan’s over after reaching his fifty.
