India reached top spot in ICC ODI Rankings after beating England by seven wickets in the third One-Day International (ODI) at Ranchi on Saturday.

Later in the day, South Africa lost their match against New Zealand which allowed India to rise to the top spot in the latest rankings.

India currently have 119 points, one more than England who are at second place with 118 points.

This is the first time India have reached the numero uno position in One-Day International rankings.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led team managed to achieve this feat despite a poor run of form following the World Cup victory in 2011.
