In spite of losing yet another overseas Test series, India retain their No 5 spot in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings. MS Dhoni‘s captaincy faced a lot criticism after a miserable performance against England in the Test series. Alastair Cook said in an interview that he felt that England would bounce back after the loss at the Lord’s but he never thought that they would win emphatically. Dhoni blamed the batsmen for not putting up a good show. India lost 3-1 to the hosts. Indian players had their chances to bounce back but no one really showed up apart from few.
Although India lost few points in the ranking list, their positions remained intact but they were not a s miserable as Pakistan. Pakistan suffered a 2-0 defeat against Sri Lanka on Monday at SSC (Colombo).
On the other hand, there’s not much movements in the ICC rankings but Sri Lanka and Pakistan exchanged their respective positions. Sri Lanka moved up to the 4th position from 6th and Pakistan lost their 4th position to Sri Lanka and went down to 6th.
