BCCI have announced a 16-man squad for the T20 Internationals of India’s tour of England and Ireland this summer. Virat Kohli will return as Indian captain after missing the solitary home Test against Afghanistan at Bengaluru. India have recalled KL Rahul, while Kedar Jadhav misses out (presumably due to injury).

India first visit Ireland to play two T20Is, at Malahide, on June 27 and 29. These will be the first floodlit international matches on Irish soil. Then Team India will play 3 T20Is versus England at Old Trafford (on July 3), Cardiff (July 6), and Bristol (July 8). The Old Trafford Cardiff matches will be played under light. These will be followed by 3 ODIs and 5 Tests, the squads for which will be announced later.

BCCI have also announced squad for the one-off home Test against Afghanistan. In Kohli’s absence, Ajinkya Rahane will lead the side. Kohli has opted out to acclimatise to English conditions prior to the Test series against England. He will participate in ongoing English County Championship for Surrey.
