Ravindra Jadeja has taken crucial strikes as Afghanistan have slipped to 64 for five in 17.1 overs against India in the Asia Cup 2014 encounter. Earlier, Afghanistan has started off very well thanks to Noor Ali Zadran, but once Jadeja came in, he took wickets to stall Afghanistan’s progress.
After taking the wickets of Rahmat Shah and Noor Ali in an over, he returned to take the big wicket of Asghar Stanikzai. Stanikzai pulled one across the line and gave a simple catch at mid-on. He could have had Najibullah Zadran, but Virat Kohli failed to hold on to a simple catch at first slip in the 17th over.
Ravichandran Ashwin then struck off his first ball as Najibullah went after him and was caught at mid-off by the substitute Stuart Binny.
