Statistical highlights on the first day of the second cricket Test match between India and Australia, in Hyderabad on Saturday.

# Michael Clarke has registered his sixth fifty against India – his 26th in Tests.

# Clarke is the sixth skipper and the second Australian captain to be dismissed in the nineties against India. Garry Sobers (WI) had recorded this dubious feat twice against India.

# Clarke’s tally of five innings in the nervous nineties has been exceeded for Australia in Tests by Michael Slater (9), Steve Waugh (8), Matthew Hayden (7) and Ricky Ponting (6).

# Clarke has been dismissed at 91 three times in Tests.

# Clarke and Wade have shared a stand of 145 – Australia’s highest for the fifth wicket against India in India, eclipsing the 139 between Damien Martyn and Jason Gillespie at Chepauk in October 2004.

# Ravindra Jadeja (3/33) has registered his best bowling figures in Tests, bettering the 3 for 72 against Australia at Chennai.

# After Pakistan’s declaration at 130 for 9 against England at Lord’s in 1974, Australia’s declaration is the first by a team on the first day of a Test match.

# Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/53) has recorded his best bowling performance in Tests.

# Matthew Wade (62) has posted his first fifty against India – his third in Tests.

# Dhoni, with 91 catches, holds a record for most catches by a wicketkeeper in Tests in India, bettering Syed Kirmani’s tally of 89.

# The 145-run partnership is a record for the fifth wicket at Uppal, Hyderabad, eclipsing 124 between Brendon McCullum and Kane Williamson in 2010-11.

# Bhuvneshwar Kumar became the first bowler to claim his first wicket as bowled in all three formats on debut.
