The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) on Saturday clarified that the state police have not demanded Rs 70 lakh from the HPCA for providing security during the third India-England ODI to be played on January 27.
“It’s not a correct news that HP police have demanded Rs 70 lakh for providing security to HPCA for the IndiaEngland match,” said Sanjay Sharma, PRO, HPCA.
“The state police have not demanded any money, and we too hope that these services shall be given to us as per the need,” he added.
Sharma informed that IG Himachal, Rakesh Kumar and SSP Kangra Daljit Thakur saturday visited the stadium to take stock of the security situation.
The HPCA has also drawn a plan to hire private security for the match.
“For the inner circle, we have decided to hire 120 private security guards,” Sharma said.
Sharma said that Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Vir Bhadra Singh has been invited as the chief guest.
