England once again managed to strike post lunch as Ravindra Jadeja was dismissed by Ben Stokes for 25 on Day two of the first Test at Trent Bridge on Thursday. The big jolt came a few balls later when MS Dhoni was run out for 82. India are 345 for seven.
Jadeja had started his innings aggressively hitting two sixes off Moeen Ali early on. It was a matter of time he fell prey to such shots as he was caught behind trying to cut. Dhoni later called for a tight single and fell short. He scored a solid 82 before being dismissed.
India defied a spirited performance form England pacers to score 83 runs in the first session. Overnight batsmen Murali Vijay and Dhoni were off to a solid start sharing a 126-run fifth wicket stand. India managed to reach 342 for five at lunch losing the wicket of Vijay for 146. After a cautious start, the batsmen scored more freely after the first hour of play with the wicket not offering anything for the bowlers.
