India continued to frustrate England bowlers as MS Dhoni and Murali Vijay have looked solid on the second morning of the first Test at Trent Bridge on Thursday. It was James Anderson again who managed to find the breakthrough dismissing Vijay for 146.
England’s only opportunity of the day was the edge offered by Dhoni which was dropped by Matt prior off Stuart Broad’s bowling. Compared to Anderson, it was Broad who looked more effective. Dhoni looked circumspect against good length deliveries pitched outside off. It was a suffocating first session but a strokeplayer like Vijay was always going to break free.
With 30 minutes to go for lunch, Anderson got one to cut back in and Vijay missed it. It looked as though the ball was a bit too high. Vijay missed out on his third 150+ score in Tests.
