England continued their cautious progress on the third morning against India in the first Test at Trent Bridge on Friday. England are on 101 for one. Sam Robson is batting on 43 and Ballance is on 46.
Robson was dropped by Virat Kohli off Ravindra Jadeja’s batting. Robson tried to defend towards leg and the edge went low towards Kohli at leg-slip. Jadeja is making good use of the footmarks to extract some turn.
Compared to the other two pacers, Ishant Sharma looked in good rhythm. He wasn’t wobbling around but delivered with a steady wrist position and often got a bit more bounce than others. He pitched it well against left-handed Balance but all of them were negotiated well. After 17 overs in the third day, Dhoni turned to Ravindra Jadeja to make some use of the footmarks created by the pacers.
