A smart field placement helped England snare the wicket of Ajinkya Rahane post tea on Day One of first Test at Trent Bridge on Wednesday. India are 179 for four.
A 70-run fourth wicket stand between Rahane and Murali Vijay had helped India recover from the dismissals of Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli early after lunch. This time around India lost a wicket yet again post break. Rahane went for the pull shot, the inside edge ricocheted off his chest and was caught by Alastair Cook at silly mid-off. Rahane scored 32.
Meanwhile, Vijay is going strong on 93 and has been joined by skipper MS Dhoni. The skipper has looked attacking right from the shots and predictably had some close calls against the pacers.
