Gautam Gambhir‘s struggle on the tour to England continued as he was dismissed first ball in the fifth Test at The Oval. India were put in to bat at The Oval with Alastair Cook winning the toss. But then, they lost Gambhir in the first over as James Anderson got him to edge.
Gambhir was in fact trying to leave the ball, but could not get his bat out in time. The ball took the bat and went through to Jos Buttler, the wicketkeeper. Thus, the move to replace Shikhar Dhawan with Gambhir has not worked so far.
CHeteshwar Pujara and Murali Vijay are batting in the centre.
