India vs England, 2nd ODI at Cuttack: Fans fight cold to grab match tickets
The fans have so far braved the chill and the cold wave, and have grabbed the tickets for the all-important 2nd ODI, which could be the decider for India vs England.
With hosts India already a game up in the ongoing three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against visitors England, the focus has shifted to the second tie, to be held at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Thursday. Meanwhile, the fans have so far braved the chill and the cold wave, that has been troubling the state, and have grabbed the tickets for the all-important tie, which could be the decider for India, while for England, it is certainly a do or die tie. The ticket counters at the stadium opened the gates at 9 AM in the morning on Monday, as fans flocked the counters without ado.
“In 2015, I had come from Berhampur to buy tickets at the Barabati stadium but the tickets were sold out before my turn came. This time I came and stood near the counter from Sunday evening,” said Prakash Patra, a fan. “I am a huge fan of Dhoni. This is for the first time he will be playing under Virat Kohli’s captaincy. I have come all the way from Ranchi to see Dhoni in action,” said Pratap Singh, another fan. “After seeing Sunday’s high-voltage match between India and England, how can I miss the opportunity of seeing the match being played live in my hometown. I have been standing in the queue since 5 am. I hope the match will be worth it,” added an engineering student Shailesh Mohanty, reports TOI.
Speaking more on the ticket sale, Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) COO, Bidyut Nayak said, “The overwhelming response of people has also energized the state cricket body. Looking at the massive response of people, it is evident that the ODI will be a housefull show. Elaborate arrangements have been made for smooth conduct of the match.”
