England have begun solidly as they were 20 for no loss at the end of six overs. Alastair Cook and Sam Robson made a cautious start, and looked in no hurry to score runs. Cook was batting on 15 and Robson was batting on 5.
Earlier, as many as six batsman were dismissed for a duck and India were bowled out for 152. Stuart Broad bowled brilliantly to take six wickets. He was well supported by James Anderson who took three crucial wickets.
India had lost four wickets for just eight runs. Both Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli failed to score a run, and Gautam Gambhir failed to capitalise on the chance that he was given.
