MS Dhoni and Ajinkya Rahane are leading India’s recovery after a horrendous fist 20 minutes of play where they lost four wickets with eight runs on board against England at the Old Trafford on Thursday. India are 52 for four.

The England pacers have bowled fuller and caused all the trouble to the batsmen. Dhoni hung on resisting the temptation to play outside while Rahane looked solid. Rahane was playing with a straight bat and hit some crisp shots down the ground.

Gautam Gambhir was the first to depart scoring only four. It was a typical Gambhir dismissal edging one in the slip cordon. He was dismissed by Stuart Broad. Within no time, Murali Vijay was walking back when he got a beautiful delivery from James Anderson and he nicked it to the slips. The horror start just got worse when Virat Kohli, struggling for form once again fell for a delivery outside off. While eight for three was worse, Cheteshwar Pujara too edged and was caught superbly by Chris Jordan in the slips.
