# Yuvraj Singh (74 off 151 balls) has registered his fourth half-century against England – his eleventh in Tests.
# Yuvraj’s last fifty in Tests was 62 against England at Trent Bridge in 2011.
# Yuvraj is averaging 46.66 against England as against his overall Test average of 35.55.
# In 17 Tests on Indian soil, Yuvraj has completed his 1000 runs, aggregating 1001 at an average of 43.52, including a hundred and seven fifties.
# Cheteshwar Pujara and Yuvraj have shared a fifth-wicket partnership of 130 – India’s highest against England at Sardar Patel Stadium.
# Jonathan Trott has posted his second duck in Tests – his first against India.
# Ravichandran Ashwin‘s batting record is reasonably good, averaging 36.40 in 2011 and 38.80 in 2012.
# Graeme Swann‘s superb bowling figures of 5 for 144 are his second best against India – his best are six for 106 in the 2011 Oval Test. His 14th instance of five wickets or more in an innings in Tests is his second against India.

# Swann (44 wickets at an average of 32.15, including three instances of five wickets in an innings and one instance of ten wickets in a match) requires six wickets to become the first bowler to complete 50 wickets in Tests this year. He is the leading wicket-taker in Tests in 2012.
# Swann is the first English spinner to take five wickets or more in an innings ten times away from home.
# Swann, for the third time in an innings, has bowled fifty or more overs. He had recorded figures of 52-10-151-0 against South Africa at The Oval in 2012 – the most overs bowled by him in an innings.
# Swann conceded 144 runs, equalling John Emburey’s tally in the 1992-93 Mumbai Test (59-14-144-2). Emburey and Swann share an unwanted record of conceding most runs in a Test innings for England in a Test match in India.
# The top three English spinners in the sub-continent are – Derek Underwood (73), Swann (58) and Ashley Giles (52).
# India (521/8d) have posted their second highest total at Sardar Patel Stadium – their highest is 583 for seven wickets declared against New Zealand in 1999-2000.
# India have recorded ten totals of 500 or more against England in Tests.
