England pacer Steven Finn has been ruled out of the first Test against India due to a thigh injury, confirmed the team management here today.
England captain Alastair Cook said the 23-year-old pacer will not take part in the match at Motera beginning Thursday.
“Steven will not be available for tomorrow’s Test. It would be too big a risk,” said Cook on Finn, who did not attend Tuesday’s training session.
Though it is not yet confirmed who will replace Finn, Tim Bresnan will most likely feature in the first eleven.
England’s other fast bowler Stuart Broad‘s fitness is already in question since he is suffering from a bruised heel. The other option for the visitors is seamer Graham Onions.
