Suresh Raina completed his 1,500 T20I runs during the first match between India  vs Ireland, at Malahide. Raina, who was only a run away from the landmark when he took field today, got there in his 74th T20I match. It was after the wicket of Shikhar Dhawan that Raina came to bat. Raina is now the 3rd in the list of leading run-scorers for India in T20Is, behind only Virat Kohli (1,989) and Rohit Sharma (1,936).

Raina had failed the Yo-Yo test which saw him out of the national team for a while. However, he made a comeback in the T20I series against South Africa. He also made it to the ODI squad for England, series replacing Ambati Rayudu, who, ironically, failed to clear the Yo-Yo test as well. India will play one more T20I with Ireland before heading to England.
