Indian found much needed practice against a modest Leicestershire attack. They ended the first day of their first tour game at 333 for the loss of just four wickets. Gautam Gambhir, the comeback man and opener made a fine knock of 54. Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara also made runs by notching up half-centuries. Catch the live blog here.

Murali Vijay and Virat Kohli though, missed out on doing well. They got starts but couldn’t covert it into big scores. Rohit Sharma played fine shots including the first six of the game. Ajinkya Rahane also did his cause no harm by notching up a fine unbeaten 47 as the duo added 74 runs in 20 overs. India are playing five Tests in England. In 2011, India lost 4-0 to England and they would look to do better this time around.
