There was no respite for the Indian batsmen as they continue to struggle at 90 for four. India lost the wicket of Murali Vijay post tea on Day Two of the first Test at Auckland. Rohit Sharma is batting on 41.
Tim Southee, Trent Boult and Neil Wagner kept up the pressure on India getting the ball to move and going past the edges frequently. They went in to tea at 45 for three with Rohit Sharma and Vijay batting. However, Wagner using the width of the crease got the deliveries to move in to Vijay until he finally managed to get one past Vijay’s defense.
Rohit has looked impressive post the tea break. He played some fluent drives, and flicks to settle in against the pacers. His partner from Mumbai, Ajinkya Rahane looked circumspect but kept the score moving with singles and twos.
Earlier, India started their innings on a disastrous not losing two wickets in the first over and soon losing Virat Kohli in the sixth.
