New Zealand have reached 50 for two in the first One-Day International (ODI) against India at Napier. Ross Taylor is batting on seven and Kane Williamson is on 12. The hosts were put into bat after MS Dhoni won the toss. It has been slow going after an encouraging start in the initial overs.

Earlier, Mohammed Shami had dismissed the openers as Jesse Ryder was bowled after he failed to get his feet in position. Later, Martin Guptill’s sedate knock came to an end as he edged one from Shami and the catch was taken by Ravichandran Ashwin at first slip.
