The Indian seam bowlers have rattled New Zealand early on Day One of the first Test at Eden Park, Auckland. The conditions are helpful for the seam bowlers and Ishant Sharma has capitalized on it big time as he has taken two wickets. After 21 overs, New Zealand are 45 for three.
MS Dhoni had won the toss and elected to bowl and rightly so. New Zealand had a few chances early on as Peter Fulton was dropped at third-slip by Shikhar Dhawan in the second over. Later, Fulton wasn’t given out leg-before when it looked like Mohammed Shami had trapped him in front.
Ishant then had Hamish Rutherford to record his 150th Test wicket. Then, Fulton was trapped in front by Zaheer Khan. Ishant then came back and had Ross Taylor caught at cover for three. Taylor looked unsettled in the middle and tried too many things. Ultimately, that led to his dismissal.
Currently, Kane Williamson and Brendon McCullum are batting.
