Martin Guptill was dismissed for 44 by Suresh Raina in the second One-Day International against India on Wednesday. New Zealand are on 115 for two after 21 overs. Meanwhile Kane Williamson completed his half–century in just 52 deliveries.
New Zealand maintained a healthy run-rate of over five an over putting themselves on course for 300+ score. The pacers were dealt with comfortably by Guptill and Williamson.
As a result Dhoni brought on his part time bowlers early. Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina were used inside 20 overs apart from the other frontline bowlers.
Guptill who struggled early on settled in after Kane Williamson on the other end looked in sublime touch. Guptill tried to sweep a delivery by Raina and instead scooped it to short fine-leg where Mohammed Shami took an easy catch.
Rain was expected to interrupt the game later in the day but he umpires were forced to stop the game after 17 overs when the rain got heavier. But it was just a matter of time the drizzle stopped and the players were back on the field.
