India have lost two wickets in their run-chase in the second Test against New Zealand in Wellington on February 18, 2014. Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay were dismissed after lunch on Day Five. India are at 31 for two after 12 overs chasing a 435-run target.
Dhawan was out LBW to Trent Boult for two. Vijay edged one from Tim Southee to Corey Anderson for seven. Cheteshwar Pujara is batting on six and Virat Kohli is on 15.
New Zealand declared their innings at 680 for six before lunch. Brendon McCullum became the first New Zealand batsman to score a triple century in Test cricket. He scored 302 off 559 deliveries. McCullum struck 32 fours and four sixes.
James Neesham scored an unbeaten 137. Zaheer Khan picked up five wickets in the innings for India. Ishant Sharma went wicket-less and gave away 164 runs in the second innings. Statistically, these were Ishant’s worst figures in a Test innings. Ironically, he had taken his best figures of six for 51 in the first innings.
