MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja marched ahead after India were five down for 154 in the fourth One-Day International at Hamilton on Tuesday.
Known for their aggressive strokes, the duo freed their arms after being tied down for most part of the powerplay. They shared a fifty partnership in 51 deliveries.
Jadeja hit a boundary on the penultimate ball of the powerplay, and from thereon, the duo just dominated the attack. In the next over, Jadeja slogged a six off Kane Williamson. In the 42nd over, Hamish Bennett was taken apart with two boundaries from Dhoni and a flat six from Jadeja.
Earlier, India were dragged back after a solid partnership between Ambati Rayudu and Rohit Sharma. However, they lost Rayudu first for 37 and the Rohit (79), Ashwin (5) were sent back in quick succession.
