Ahead of the first ODI between India and New Zealand, former skipper Sourav Ganguly has warned the home side. Ganguly has asked Virat Kohli and co. not to take Kiwi spinners lightly. New Zealand have Ish Sodhi and Mitchell Santner to exploit the spin-friendly conditions.
Speaking to Sports Tak, Ganguly said, “India are strong favourites to win the upcoming series. They played well against Australia. However, New Zealand have spinners, who can control the game a bit in the middle overs. I don’t know how much, but they will.”
He further added, “Having said that, India A boys gave a dress rehearsal to the New Zealand A team, which had quite a few senior members. I believe that our big boys will make a little more difficult for New Zealand.”
It must be recalled that New Zealand spinners had got the better of India in the 2016 WT20 at Nagpur.
