Sharjeel Khan and Ahmed Shehzad have given Pakistan a solid and quick start in their run-chase against India in the sixth match of the Asia Cup 2014. Pakistan are at 45 for no loss after seven overs.

Shehzad has already struck three fours in his innings so far. There was an appeal for caught-behind against Shehzad. Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled an away swinging good length delivery and there was a noise as Dinesh Karthik collected the ball behind the wickets.

But the umpire ruled not out and replays showed that the ball had clipped the pad and not the bat. Shehzad then hit a fuller delivery from Bhuvneshwar down the ground for another four. Sharjeel then hit a good length delivery from Bhuvneshwar over mid-on for a four.

India posted a competitive total of 245 for eight in 50 overs after being sent into bat by Misbah-ul-Haq. Rohit Sharma scored 56, while Ambati Rayudu scored 58. Ravindra Jadeja scored a quick-fire unbeaten 52 towards the end.

Saeed Ajmal took three wickets for 40 runs. Mohammad Talha and Mohammad Hafeez took two wickets each.
