India have lost the wicket of Shikhar Dhawan in the third over of their Asia Cup 2014 clash against Pakistan. Mohammad Hafeez bowled a good length delivery and Dhawan went back on his back-foot and played across the line. The ball hit the pads and the Pakistan players appealed.
The umpire raised his finger and Dhawan had to depart for 10 off 13 deliveries. Replays showed that the ball might have just clipped the top of leg-stump. That was on the last ball of the third over. India’s score after five overs is 30 for one. Rohit Sharma is batting on 17 and Virat Kohli is on one.
Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq had won the toss and elected to field first. He opted to open the bowling with off-spinner Mohammad Hafeez. Rohit got of the mark with a single off the first delivery. Dhawan got of the mark with a cut shot for four in the first over. Umar Gul opened the bowling with Hafeez.
Rohit hooked a Gul bouncer over deep backward square-leg for a six. Hafeez was replaced by Junaid Khan on the fifth over.
