Mumbai: Dec 19, 2012

India take on Pakistan in a limited-over series consisting three One-Day Internationals and two Twenty20 Internationals starting December 25.

This is after four years that a Pakistan side is touring India for a bilateral series as the cricketing ties were cut off following the Mumbai terror attacks in 2008.

Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul Haq, who has been roped in as a batting consultant of the national cricket team, has advised his batsmen to play positively when the limited-overs series against India.

“The mood I saw today in the camp is very positive and energetic and it is obvious that the players are very happy with all that the cricket board is doing for the team at the moment,” Inzamam said.

“During my entire career I learnt one thing that when relations between the board and players were good the team always responded well and played positively,” Inzamam told reporters at the Gaddafi stadium.

The second Twenty20 International between India and Pakistan, which was scheduled to be played in Ahmedabad on December 27, has been postponed by a day on the request of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Indian political parties such as the Bhartiya Janata Party and Sri Ram Sene have opposed the scheduled bilateral series.
