Two wickets in one over! Sarfaraz Khan cleans up Hassan Raza and Kamran Ghulam is run out for duck as India gain command in this opening clash. It was unfortunate for Kamran as Sarfaraz had dislodged one bail while he was yet to get the ball, and a throw from Deepak Hooda was on target, taking off the other bail.

Sami Aslam and Imam-ul-Haq have put up an unbeaten 90-run stand for the first wicket, providing a strong start to Pakistan. They now need another 173 runs to win. Wicketkeeper Ankush Bains missed a stumping chanse off Aamir Gani in the 20th over.

Pakistan seem to be picking up after a slow start. Both Sami and Imam hit straight drives off Avesh Khan in the 10th over to shrug off the slow beginning to their chase.
Indian bowlers are not allowing Pakistan batsmen to open up. Both Imam and Sami have gone for their shots but with no significant result.
Pakistan have made a steady start in their chase of 263 runs.
India have recovered well to post a daunting target against their arch rivals. Pakistan did well to peg back India in the middle overs, but the century stand between Samson and Sarfaraz revived India.
Sanju Samson is out after a fine innings of 68. The right-handed batsmen hit two boundaries and a six, and added 119 runs with Sarfaraz Khan to lead India’s revival.

India take the batting powerplay and Sarfaraz Khan starts off with a boundary in the 37th over. The partnership between Samson and Sarfaraz is of 72 runs now.
Sarfaraz Khan and Sanju Samson have done well so far, adding 49 runs for the fifth wicket. India can now aim for a good score after the slip-up in the middle overs.
Sanju Samson and Sarfaraz Khan are leading India’s revival, as they seem to be picking up after the quick wickets that left India in trouble.
Sanju Samson danced down the track to smash a six off Karamat in the 24th over of the game to bring up the 100 for India. Pakistan did well to hold back the Indians as a boundary was hit after 93 deliveries.
Pakistan are all over India as spinner Karamat Ali has claimed his second wicket in quick succession. Ricky Bhui is caught for one as India have slipped from a comfortable position.

Pakistan continue to make inroads into the Indian batting line-up. Herwadkar, who batted so well to set a platform for a big knock, makes room to play a cut shot but is cleaned up by spinner Karamat Ali.

Pakistan have wrestled back control after quick wickets that jolted India in the middle. Samson and Herwadkar have the task of bailing India out of trouble and lay a platform for a big total.
Zia-ul-Haq comes back into the attack and he has bagged the key wicket! The left-arm pacer hits Zol’s pads on the fourth ball of the over, there was a loud appeal but umpire Peter Nero thought otherwise. However, on the final ball, Zia pitched it up on the line of middle and off, and Zol’s caught trapped in front of the wicket.

Indian openers have been all over Pakistan this morning. They have not given any opportunity to the opposition to capitalise and have punished the bowlers for being wayward.
Indian openers are looking aggressive as they have hit couple of boundaries early on. Akhil Herwadkar hit consecutive boundaries off Pakistan pacer Mohammad Aftab in the fourth over of the game.
Zia-ul-Haq opens the bowling for Pakistan as the Indians collect four runs off the first over. Ankush Bains had a nervous moment when an edge fell short to the fielder at the first slip.

Historically, Pakistan under-19 have had an edge over their neighbours in the World Cup.

 

However, India’s victory during their last encounter in 2012 and in the recent Asia Cup triumph will hold them in good stead.   Nevertheless, the under-19 World Cup starts off with a bang with these two big sides clashing. It should set the tone for a tournament that is a cradle of young cricketing talent.
