South Africa have lost Graeme Smith for 44 in their second innings of the first Test against India in Johannesburg. South Africa are at 110 for one, chasing a target of 458 runs after 32 overs. Alviro Petersen is batting on 64 and Hashim Amla is on zero.
Smith played one from Ravichandran Ashwin to mid-on and set off for a quick single. Ajinkya Rahane was quick onto it and hit the stumps directly to give India the breakthrough.
India were bowled out for 421 in their second innings on Day Four. Cheteshwar Pujara top-scored with 153 and Virat Kohli scored 96. This was Pujara’s sixth Test century. Kohli fell just four runs short of scoring a second century in the Test. He scored 119 runs in the first innings.
Petersen has scored his sixth Test half-century. Theere is a little uneven bounce at the New Wanderers Stadium on Saturday and it may continue as the match goes into Day Five. South Africa still need 348 runs to win the first Test.
