India would have loved to wind up the South African innings by Lunch but it was only done post Tea. South Africa had scored 258 runs by then setting a target of 287 for the visitors. AB de Villiers was the top scorer for the host with 80 runs. Faf du Plessis held his end scoring 48 before getting out to Jasprit Bumrah.

India who came to bat with 23 overs remaining in the day lost three wickets in total. India’s centurion batsman in the first innings, Virat Kohli proved to be the most crucial wicket. Parthiv Patel who came to bat ahead of Rohit Sharma was struck by a nasty blow by the debutant Lungisani Ngidi. Ngidi picked up two wickets of the three and was looking dangerous.

The live telecast of first Test, Day One can be watches on Sony Ten 1 and Sony Ten 1 HD. Sony Ten 3 will telecast with Hindi commentary. The live streaming of the same will be available on SonyLive.com.

India will want Parthiv and Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara to build a partnership tomorrow. Whereas, South Africa will see to it that the tail is exposed to their bowling attack by Lunch. This is a must win match for India to stay alive in the series. India are 35 for 3 at Stumps, Day Four.
