India‘s gritty batting display has put them on top on Day Three of the third and final Test versus South Africa at Johannesburg. In reply, South Africa — in pursuit of 241 — are 17 for 1, and need a humoungous task to sail past India on a difficult track, producing prodigious bounce and extra pace. If India win the Test, they will not only be able to make the series scoreline 1-2, but also remain unbeaten at Wanderers.

The live telecast of third Test, Day Four can be watched on Sony Ten 1 and Sony Ten 1 HDSony Ten 3 and Sony Ten 3 HD will telecast the Test in Hindi commentary. The live streaming of the same will be available on SonyLiv.com.

Day Three was all about resolute batting display by Murali Vijay, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. They applied themselves in the middle, and found ways to keep the scoreboard ticking. While Vijay took blows, the other three were confident with their footwork and pounced on loose deliveries. South Africa were taken aback courtesy their sloppy fielding, and slightly lethargic approach.

The onus now lies completely on South Africa’s famed batsmen — Hashim Amla, AB de Villiers, Faf du Plessis — and a strong contribution from the tail to fight hard versus India’s in-form pacers. The track, meanwhile, will continue to add to their troubles.

Umpires were seen in various discussions regarding the future of the Test courtesy the wayward nature of the pitch. This even led to early stumps yesterday. India would hope for no hindrance, and press hard for victory come Saturday.
