Temba Bavuma ahead of South Africa’s third Test against India  suffered a fracture on his finger. Bavuma’s injured his finger, playing for Cape Cobras in the domestic one-day cup last week. This injury will rule him out for nearly three to four weeks. Bavuma, however remains to be the part of South Africa squad with Cricket South Africa not naming any replacement.

South Africa are currently 2-0 up, having won the Cape Town and Centurion Tests by 72 and 135 runs respectively.  Bavuma in the fateful match against Knights scored a brilliant 102-ball 65, that included 8 fours. It was the same match that saw JP Duminy slam 37 runs off Eddie Leie.

Bavuma so far has played 27 Tests for South Africa, scoring 1,259 runs at 33.13. He has played just 2 ODIs scoring 161 runs.

The third Test between India and South Africa begins from January 24 at Wanderers.
