The moment fans find their favourite cricketers on the streets, they do not spare a moment to click a selfie or maybe even get an autograph. This time around it was Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara who enjoyed the limelight on the Colombo streets. Kohli and Pujara were making their way to the practice grounds and were found crossing the road for the same. The video put up by BCCI on their Twitter account shows young kids faces light up as soon as they pass by. Full Cricket Scorecard: India vs Sri Lanka, 1st Test at Galle
It was followed by some selfie session by the fans while Kohli and Pujara crossed the road. Kohli was seen dragging his bags while Pujara had his bag strapped. Kohli and co. will embark the Sri Lanka journey from July 26 playing 3 Tests, 5 ODIs and only T20I. The first Test will be played at Galle.
India faced an early jolt with the injury of Murali Vijay. However, Shikhar Dhawan was called as his replacement. Sri Lanka also faced disappointment as their new skipper Dinesh Chandimal has contracted pneumonia and will miss the first Test. Rangana Herath will wear the captains hat in his absence.
India have already begun their practice session with a match against Sri Lanka President XI (SLPXI) on Friday. Day One saw India bowlers restricting SLPXI to 187. India were only trailing by 35 runs at stumps with Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane taking India to 135 for the loss of 3 wickets.
