Shikhar Dhawan completed his sixth One-Day International half-century as he leads India’s innings in the Asia Cup 2014 match against Sri lanka at Fatullah on Friday. Kohli is batting along with Dhawan and India are on 100 for one in 23 overs.

Dhawan initially went for his strokes but found the runs hard to come by. While Rohit Sharma failed to adapt, Dhawan’s confidence quickly built up as he drove Lasith Malinga through the covers and followed it up with a push to get two consecutive boundaries. He then started playing with soft hands and collected the quick singles.

Along with Kohli, Dhawan steadied the innings and the runs kept flowing even though not at a brisk rate. On a slowish pitch Dhawan has done well to keep his aggressive instinct down.
