Swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar got the first breakthrough for India dismissing Chris Gayle for 18 on Day One of the first Test. West Indies are 39 for the loss of one wicket. There was no real footwork from Gayle and looked tentative. The edge flew straight to Mural Vijay at second slip.

The pitch had low bounce for both pacers. The openers were cautious against the swing bowlers. Dhoni introduced spin after few overs in the form of Ravichandran Ashwin. Kieran Powell hit a s ix and a four through the line. Darren Bravo is the new batsman on the crease batting at No 3
This is Sachin Tendulkar’s penultimate Test. The maestro is set to retire after his 200th Test.
