Jadeja picks up the remaining two wickets of two consecutive balls. India win by 102 runs. Narine was caught at long-off when he tried to hit Jadeja of the backfoot. Roach was hoodwinked by an arm-ball. India have opened their account with a win.
The ninth wicket partnership has added more than fifty. This is not a good news for India as far as net run rate is concerned. Roach swivels and pulls Yadav for a four to fine-leg.
Jadeja has been smashed for a six from Narine. Thirteen have come off the over. There was another drop in this over. Narine goes for a big hit and Raina drops the catch running in from long-on.
Umesh concedes three of the over. West Indies are playing seamers cautiously and attacking the spinners. Still a lot of runs to play with for India.
Ishant is bending his back and Narine is playing him out. A maiden over. India would love to wrap up things as soon as possible.
Roach slog-sweeps Ashwin for a six over mid-wicket. Eight runs have come of the over. The partnership between Roach-Narine is 32 off 27 balls. India need to wrap up the innings quickly.
Ishant concedes two runs. West Indies batsmen didn’t take any chances. They need exactly 137 runs off 11 overs. Half the number of runs scored.
The highlight of the over from Ashwin was an inside-out shot which went over covers. Eight runs have come of the over.
Karthik drops Roach. Jadeja induces an edge which was dropped. The short ball was cut ferociously for a boundary. Fourteen runs came of the over.

Sammy smacks the first delivery straight of mid-on for four. Yadav then gets Sammy courtesy of a slower off-cutter. India are on their way of getting a bonus point. Sammy was the last hope, if there was one.
Jadeja bowls a maiden over. Roach plays out six dot balls. Jadeja is applying pressure. West Indies need a superhuman effort.
Yadav gets Dwayne Bravo. He had Bravo playing back and he was caught plumb in front of the stumps. West Indies are in dire straits. India seek big win. They are closing in on it.
Jadeja has an attacking field for Sammy. He gives a generous dose of flight to bring two slips into play. But Sammy connects the ball well which flies over covers for a six. Seven runs have come off the over.
Umesh Yadav gets Ramdin but errs in his length off final two deliveries which result in eight leg-byes. India should tighten the noose. They are letting pressure go away with freebies. Ten have come off the over.
Ashwin bowls four dot balls. The fifth ball was a short ball which was pulled over square-leg for six. Only six runs have come of the over.
Jadeja is rushing with his over. He finds Ramdin’s outside edge and two runs have come off it. The fifth ball was swept through square-leg for boundary. Seven runs have come off the over.
Ashwin starts his first over. He has a leg-slip whcih comes into play off the first delivery. Three singles have come of the over.
Jadeja comes in the attack. He is getting a lot of purchase. Only one run has come of the over. The Indian close-in fielders are on their toes.
Ishant has strayed on the pads on three occasions. The result was a single, double and a single. Ishant is getting a lot of nip of the wicket. Four have come off his over. West Indies need a big partnership.
Bhuvneshwar is bowling incessant line. West Indies are finding run-making difficult. Only one run has come of the over. India are on top here at Trinidad.
Ishant gets Johnson Charles. The attempted bouncer hit the top of the bat. It popped up in the air and was caught by Raina running in from mid-wicket towards square-leg. West Indies are struggling big time.
Bhuvneshwar gets Kieron Pollard off the first delivery. The ball jumped on him and took the edge of the bat which was caught by Ashwin in the first slip. One run and a big wicket comes off that over.
After two deliveries Ishant is not happy with the run-up. Saw dust was being called for. Off the fifth ball Samuels got very good delivery. The ball brushed the glove and Karthik caught it nicely. But umpire Nero turns down the appeal. Off the last delivery Ishant induces an edge off Samuels. The lapse from umpire wasn’t costly. India are on top.
It takes Charles just two deliveries to get going. Bhuvneshwar’s slower delivery was hit over covers. Five runs have come from the first over after the break.
West Indies fifty is up as Charles carts Ishant over his head for a maximum. The next ball is pulled behind square for a four. The ground staff are assembling near the boundary and the players have come off as the rain has become heavier.
Bhuvneshwar continues. He seems to bowl most of his overs upfront. However, Charles is up for the challenge and he pulls a short ball over mid-wicket for a massive six. What a shot!
Ishant Sharma replaces Umesh. Marlon Samuels gets an edge and it runs down to fine-leg for four as he gets off the mark. Ishant misses the mark once and strays down the leg side for a wide.
Bhuvneshwar is in control here. Samuels cannot get it away as he leaves a few outside the off and plays the others quietly. The last one leaves his bat as he withdraws it at the last minute.
Umesh continues and this one is a better over until the four off the last ball. The first ball rapped Charles high on the pads. The batsman thought it was going down the leg-side and shouldered arms. But, it came back to hit him. Charles smashes the last ball for four.
Bhuvneshwar raps Charles on the pads, but it was going down the leg-side. Charles walks down the ground and edges one over the slips for four. Bhuvneshwar comes around the wicket and Bravo flashes outside the off-stump and is caught by Ravichandran Ashwin at first-slip.
Johnson Charles continues to be in good touch. He pulls one short delivery through mid-wicket for four. One could see that he picked it early.
Gayle smashed one through the off-side for a four. However, Bhuvneshwar has his revenge as Gayle tentatively pokes at one outside the off-stump and Dinesh Karthik did the rest, There is a bit of a drizzle, but doesn’t seem threatening. Darren Bravo comes in

Umesh Yadav bowls a short delivery to Gayle which has been dispatched over square-leg for a boundary. The ball was too easy to put away for Gayle. Seven have come off the second over.
Bhuvneshwar gets the second ball to jump on Chris Gayle. The big West Indian tries to go over point but plays a half-hearted shot. The ball flies over point for two runs. Three have come of the over.
Kohli scores his 13th ODI hundred. What a time to get it. India needed it the most from their new ODI skipper. Six have come off the over. Bravo’s strategy to come round-the-wicket works. Virat falls off the last delivery. He tries to go over deep mid-wicket but has been caught there. Six have come off the final over. West Indies need 312 to win.
The over starts with a length ball from Roach. Kohli deposits it wide of long-on. Ashwin is given a freebie — a short delivery with dollop of width. Ashwin hits it past keeper for a boundary. Kohli creams the fifth delivery past covers for boundary. Fifteen have come off the over.
Darren Sammy has two overs to go. Yet Dwayne Bravo brings himself on. Kohli welcomes him with a six over covers. Ashwin makes merry as well. Short ball was pulled for a boundary and then he advances down the track which goes past point for a four. Seventeen have come of the over.
Roach balls a help-yourself-ball to Kohli — a slower ball which has been smashed over short-leg. A flick-pull if you may call. Eight have come off the 47th over,
Pollard has been muscled over mid-wicket for six. It is third consecutive 11-run over. West Indies are leaking runs. The absence of Narine is hurting West Indies big time.
It was a very good over from Samuels upto the four deliveries. The last two deliveries were hit for boundaries by Kohli. That made it 11 off the over.
Bravo is not bowling proper line. A short delivery which was slow outside leg-stump was pulled square for a boundary past fine-leg by Kohli. Eleven have come off the over.
Best concedes 10 off the over. Kohli hits Best past point for his third boundary in a similar fashion. Ashwin gets only a run off three deliveries faced.
Pollard nearly pulls off a blinder. Jadeja cuts Bravo and Pollard at backward point nearly pulls off a catch. But it is not a costly miss as Jadeja is run-out for only two. Kohli is stranded on 44. India still have to bat more than eight overs,
Kohli pulls to mid-wicket for two. Off the fifth delivery Kohli pushes the ball to the right of deep cover for another couple. The final delivery was hit past backward point for a boundary. Ten have come off this over.
Vijay welcomes Kieron Pollard for two boundaries off first two deliveries. A full delivery was hit inside-out. Short ball was pulled with utter disdain. Vijay backs away and cuts the ball straight to Johnson Charles at point.
Vijay goes inside-out against Narine and gets a boundary. He then paddles Narine for another boundary. Nine have come of the over. India have got a move-on.
Eleven runs have come off Roach’s over. Vijay flicks Roach leg-side, a half-volley and nicely glanced to fine-leg. Kohli dismisses Roach to mid-wicket.
Kohli cuts Samuels for a boundary through point. Seven have come off the over. India have taken advantage of the powerplay. They need the momentum their way in the final overs.
Dinesh Karthik falls on the first ball of batting Powerplay. It was dug in short down to leg side and Karthik it seems has gloved it. West Indies rejoice. Five runs have come off the over.
Kohli pristinely flicks Samuels past mid-wicket for a four. No runs have come off the five other deliveries.
Best concedes four runs. The last ball was hit to long-on by Karthik for two runs. Best is hitting good lengths.
Tight bowling from Samuels has forced Raina to commit the error. Raina tries to prod Samuels. The ball went at the ankle height to Sammy. Karthik the new batsman starts the proceedings with a boundary courtesy of a powerful cut.
Best tries to bounce out Kohli but India’s No 3 pulls the ball contemptuously for a couple. Four singles resulted off next four deliveries. Kohli let the last ball go through to the keeper. Six runs have come off Best’s over.
Raina welcomes Samuels with a big hit over long-on boundary. He will not let Samuels settle in. Apart from that six there were five dot balls.
Tino Best gets a wicket off his first ball of the second spell. He gets well-set Rohit for 46. Rohit tries to cut the ball which was not too wide. The ball takes the inside part of the bat and Ramdin holds onto the catch. Suresh Raina walks in at No 4.
Three runs have come off Samuels. He is darting the deliveries. Indians are happy to take singles. Sharma gets two singles off the frontfoot. Kohli is happy to stay back and play Samuels.
Kohli hits the final ball of the over wide of extra covers all along the ground for four. Roach erred in his line which was indifferent. Kohli gets a move on.
Kohli is taking his time to settle. He plays five dot balls from Samuels, who is darting the ball. Kohli gets a single off the final delivery. West Indies are putting breaks on India just a tad.
Roach is working up good pace. Only two runs have come off the over. The first single was courtesy of a misfield by Sammy at cover. Kohli drops the ball and runs off the next ball.
Marlon Samuels the part-time off spineer comes on to bowl. In the last game he conceded 22 off his nine overs. He gives away three singles of his first over.
Dhawan falls for 69 trying to flick Roach. The ball was flicked nonchalently but it was caught brilliantly by Darren Bravo at deep square-leg. The century stand has given India solid base. Roach has bowled a wicket maiden.
Dhawan gets on the act. He slog-sweeps Narine for a flat six and then follows it up with another similar shot. The result is another six. Narine short ball was pulled with utter disdain by DHawan. Nineteen have come off the 23rd over.
Rohit and Dhawan have brought their third hundred run stand. Dhawan brings his second ODI half-century. He will be looking to get his third ODI hundred. Rohit has complimented him well.
Two runs have come off Narine’s over. Dhawan mis-hits a sweep shot of the fourth ball which hits the toe-end of the bat and goes to mid-wicket. India are milking the bowling albeit some unorthodox shots.
Dhawan is sublime in his timing through the off-side. The fifth ball was hit supremely past covers for a boundary. The fourth ball was also hit past covers for a couple of runs. India have scored eight off this over.
Dhawan tries to be a little cute. Tries a pre-meditated paddle off Narine but the ball goes past keeper and the slip fielder moves to his right in anticipation. It befuddles all. India earn four off Narine’s over.
Dhawan comes down the track and smashes Bravo through covers for a boundary. Nine runs have come off the over.
Sunil Narine comes onto bowl. He has seven fielders in the circle. After three dot balls, Rohit goes for a sweep shot and gets a boundary. The last ball is defended to covers for a single.
Dhawan starts the over with a flashing cut which races past third-man off Best. Sunil Narine executed a laboured dive. A leg-bye and a single resulted further in the over. Six have come off the over.
Rohit uppercuts Bravo over point for a boundary off the second ball. India have scored seven off Bravo’s over. Bravo is not consistent with his length.
Two runs have come off the Best’s over. India are unhurried. They have made a methodical start in a do-or-die encounter.
Dwayne Bravo comes to bowl his first over. The fourth ball was erratic it was very wide. India are playing confidently. Six runs come off Bravo’s first over.
Best errs in his line. The ball was on leg stump. Best’s delivery strayed down the leg-side which hits Dhawan’s thigh-pad for a four past wicket-keeper Denesh Ramdin. India have reached fifty without too many jitters.
Sammy bowls his sixth over and gives two run off this over. Dhawan drives brilliantly but the sweeper cover cuts it off and keeps it down to one. Rohit gets a single off the last ball.
Tino Best concedes just one run of his first over. Off the first ball, Dhawan takes a quick single. Rohit then hit a couple of good shots but the West Indies inner ring has been agile.
Rohit hits the fifth ball wide of extra cover. The feature of the shot was the way in which Rohit turned the bat face at the point of contact. Only four have come off Sammy’s fifth over. India are building a steady platform.
After bowling a maiden over the last over, Roach has gone for 10 runs. The feature of Dhawan’s batting has been the timing and placement on the off-side. The shots were hit ferociously. India start steadily.
Sammy has bowled a tight line and length. Four overs have and nine runs conceded. This has been a very good start from Sammy. India are playing him cautiously.
After conceding three boundaries off the previous over, Roach bowls a maiden over. Dhawan looked a tad anxious to get off strike but West Indies inner ring are rushing onto the ball. West Indies are tying down India.
Rohit caresses the fifth ball for a boundary off Sammy. The rest of the deliveries were played cautiously. This has been a good start so far for India.
Three boundary off have come off Roach’s over. Rohit pulls the first ball in front of square-leg. Dhawan check-drives all along the ground and the sixth ball has been smashed between cover point and backward point. Thirteen have come off the over.
Sammy bowls a maiden over. Sammy is bowling an incisive line and length. Dhawan is tied down. So far the Sammy experiment has worked. Three overs and five runs has been a sedate start for India.
Kemar Roach has bowled a wonderful over where he got the ball to hit the deck and move away. Rohit tucks away the fourth ball to fine-leg for a single. Dhawan plays a similar shot off the fifth ball. Only two runs have come off the over.
Darren Sammy to open the bowling for West Indies. There is just a little bit of grass on the track. The first ball is a little short delivery which has been hit towards the left of backward point for a single. Dhawan tucks away the second ball for a single. The third and fourth deliveries were in the corridor of uncertainty which Rohit leaves. The fifth delivery was just short of length which was negotiated safely by Rohit. The final ball was full which drew Rohit forward. The drive eluded second slip for a single.
West Indies have won the toss and elected to bowl first. Dwayne Bravo is back for the West Indies and leads them in this encounter. Devon Smith has been dropped for Bravo.
