West Indies opted to bat first after Jason Holder got it right at the toss of the fourth Test between against India at Port-of-Spain. India are leading the series by 2-0 and have a good chance of of winning this Test and retaining the top spot in the ICC Test rankings. Day 1 of the fourth Test saw only 22 overs being bowled as rain played a huge part and the day was called off. West Indies managed to put 62 runs for the loss of two wickets and were in a delicate situation after losing two wickets. Ishant Sharma got the first wicket in the form of Leon Johnson for a mere score of nine but Kraigg Brathwaite at the other end looked solid. Ravichandran Ashwin continued his good form with the ball as he too chipped in with the key wicket of Darren Bravo. Ashwin bowled an absolute stunned to get rid of Bravo for 10. The whole West Indies innings saw eight boundaries being scored on Day 1. Brathwaite smashed five boundaries and remained unbeaten on 32 while Johnson had just one to his name. India have opted for an extra batsman and have roped in Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara ahead of Shikhar Dhawan and Ravindra Jadeja. It would be interesting to see how the pitch fares and how much of the Test will be affected due to rain. As of now, the pitch had some bounce as well as turn and is surely a result oriented surface.
