Basil Thampi of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) received the worst hammering in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL), against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Wednesday at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Thampi took nought for 70 in 4 overs, going for 17.50 an over. One must remember here that Thampi won the Emerging Cricketer of the Year Award in 2017. Thampi broke the ‘record’ of Ishant Sharma, who had figures of 4-0-66-0, also for SRH, against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2013 at Uppal, Hyderabad. - Against RCB. Umesh held the previous record of 4-0-65-0, for Delhi Daredevils at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi in 2013.

- At Chinnaswamy. Shane Watson held the previous record of 4-0-61-0, for RCB against SRH in 2016.

- Of this season. Umesh held the previous record of 4-0-59-0, for RCB against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Chinnaswamy.
