Rashid Khan made his IPL debut from Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) last year when he impressed everyone with his leg-spin bowling picking up 17 wickets. He was retained by SRH in Vivo IPL 2018 auctions using the Right to Match(RTM) card for a whopping amount of INR 9 crores.

According to reports in Hindustan Times, SRH coach Tom Moody  appreciated Rashid calling him a unique bowler, he also suggested his experience in many tournament adds to his strength.

“Rashid is a pretty unique cricketer and he’s had a lot of success with us last year,” Moody, 52, told Reuters. He’s gone from strength to strength in the various tournaments that he has played around the world and also when he’s representing his country.”

Rashid recently made headlines when he became the quickest bowler to scalp 100 ODI wickets going past Mitchell Starc. He also played an important role in Afghanistan’s maiden World Cup Qualifier 2018 title defeating West Indies in the final.

“He’s an important piece to our puzzle given that there’s an element of mystery around him and he has that real potency as a wicket-taker. So he’s important,” Moody said.

SRH miss the service of David Warner due to ball tampering controversy which happened during the Test between Australia and South Africa. However, Kane Williamson is doing a pretty good job leading the side. SRH are currently topping the points table winning all three games. Moody claims that Williamson has got good understanding of leadership.

“Kane is the captain of experience, given he has captained international teams. He’s got a real understanding of leadership and captaincy. And like any player captain must be true to themselves and true to their strength and Kane will be doing exactly that and we will encourage him to do it his way.”
