Robin Uthappa, a veteran of 159 Indian Premier League (IPL) matches, went past 4,000 runs in the tournament today. He achieved this feat playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Prior to the match, Uthappa was stranded on 4,983 runs. He became sixth player to cross 4,000 IPL runs. Of Indians he was the fifth, after Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir. Uthappa was dropped by Mayank Markande for 4 off Hardik Pandya. He reached the landmark with a six off Markande.
