Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have kept their hopes alive in Vivo IPL 2018 by registering third win in the tournament against Mumbai Indians (MI). They successfully defended 168 as they won by 14 runs. Colin de Grandhomme smashed 23* off 10 taking RCB to a competitive total.

In the second innings RCB reduced MI for 153 for 7 as Tim Southee finished with impressive figures of 4-0-25-2 and was awarded the Man of the Match. In the post match presentation, Southee expressed his happiness on winning the game.

“Nice to come here and play. Nice to finally get a win on the board. We’ve come close in the last two games. There was a little bit of swing which you’ve never seen here in the earlier games.”

He also praised Grandhomme’s innings of 23 which took them to a decent total. RCB scored 24 off the last over. According to Southee that over made all the difference.

“Last over was crucial. Colin’s innings gave us the momentum. We still had to bowl well to defend this score. The belief’s still good. We have come close. Nice to get over the line. It’s nice to get a win under the belt.”
