England’s Liam Plunkett  has been roped in by Delhi franchise for the upcoming edition of Indian T20 League. He comes in as a replacement for the injured Kagiso Rabada. Radaba was diagnosed with lower back stress reaction just days prior to the start of domestic T20 League.  This will be Plunkett’s first presence in the tournament. He was picked from the Registered Available Player Pool (RAPP) list.

Plunkett has played T20 cricket for Sylhet Sixers and Yorkshire. He has featured in 15 T20Is for England, picking 19 wickets. In T20 cricket, he has played 119 matches, claiming 110 wickets in the process. Rabada was retained by Delhi for INR  4.2 cr.

Rabada’s absence will be a huge loss for the franchise, yet to feature in the playoffs since 2012, as the 22-year-old has been in ominous form off late. He ran past the Australian line up during their series against South Africa; picking 23 wickets.
