Ranchi: May 11, 2013

Kolkata Knight Riders were today accorded a warm welcome when they landed at their home away from home, the city of Ranchi, for their next two Indian Premier League (IPL) matches.

The defending champions will host Royal Challengers Bangalore and Pune Warriors in the Jharkhand capital.

“The stadium is spectacular, the JSCA office bearers have been most cooperative and the buzz in Ranchi is noticeable.

Although nothing can beat the Eden experience, we are really excited to play in Ranchi. I hope we can give our supporters a reason to smile!” said Venky Mysore, KKR CEO.

The first game will be played against RCB tomorrow at the JSCA International Stadium Complex.

Going by the rapid ticket sales, Knight Riders are expecting a sellout crowd for the weekend game. Out of the total 29,000 tickets up for sale, about 8,500 were sold through KKR’s online ticketing partner, Ticketgenie.

The fans, who ordered tickets online, had an easy access to their tickets through two dedicated windows at the venue itself.

About 8,450 tickets have already been collected by the fans and the rest may do so tomorrow.

For match days, the tickets will be available only at the venue. There will be three counters in all selling tickets over the shelf with one catering only to ladies.

Tickets are also available at all major multiplexes in Ranchi besides Reebok Stores, Caf Coffee Days, Mobile Stores etc.
