Its heartbreak for Punjab! They come agonizingly close courtesy a lovely partnership between Shaun Marsh and David Miller but fall short by 15 runs. Shaun Marsh led the fight back brilliantly but couldn’t take his team through. Dwayne Bravo cleans up Marsh off the first ball and bowls a lovely slower one to Gurkeerat Singh to send him back in the next ball. He also sends back Rajagopal Sathish for a first ball duck.

Marsh bowls a good over in the context of the game. He concedes only 11 runs. Marsh and Miller have added an unbeaten stand of 95 but need to score 19 from the last over.

A good over goes bad with a six off the last ball. Miller this time! 12 runs from the over. 150 comes up for Punjab. They need 30 off the last two overs.
Marsh refuses to give up. Chris Morris starts well but Marsh gets two boundaries and 12 runs from the over. 42 runs required from 18 balls.
Lovely batting this from Marsh! He slams Bravo straight back to the boundary in the second ball to ease the pressure. Bravo does well to decieve him with a slower delivery off the next delivery. Marsh ends the over with a boundary to take 11 runs from the over. They need 54 from the last four overs.
Another over than produces 10 runs. Marsh and Miller hanging in there as the match proceeds towards a close finish. They still need 65 from 30 deliveries.
Dwayne Bravo comes on and contains well but Marsh guides the ball to third man boundary to bring up his half-century. He will hold the key if Punjab are to pull off a victory here. They need 75 from the last six overs.

David Miller gets into the act! He welcomes Ashwin’s ‘leg spin’ delivery for a straight six. 11 runs come from the over as Punjab go past the 100-run mark.

Shaun Marsh gives back Suresh Raina the taste of his own medicine! He slams the left-arm spinner for back-to-back sixes, first straight over the bowler and the second through covers. He ends the over with a boundary. Can Marsh and Miller inspire a great comeback?
Big blow for Punjab! The asking rate was climbing and mounting the pressure on the Kings XI skipper. He gets a six off the first ball but perishes off the second as he can’t clear Dwayne Bravo at long off. Bravo breaks into a dance, Hussey walks back. Is it curtains for KXIP?
Chris Morris comes into the attack. He has had a decent start to his debut IPL season, picking 11 wickets from 10 matches. He starts off with an expensive over conceding eight runs runs. Punjab have 65/2 at the half-way stage.
Ravichandran Ashwin starts off with a miserly over. Just four singles come off it. The asking rate is just under 12 runs an over.
50 comes up for the Kings XI Punjab as Shaun Marsh and David Hussey score a boundary each.

Mandeep Singh is out! Mohit Sharma gets his second wicket! A straightforward catch to Suresh Raina sends Mandeep back for 15. Punjab manage just 36/2 in the powerplay.
Its been all Chennai so far! They haven’t given away easy runs. Punjab need to up the ante before the asking rate goes beyond control. Only four runs from the over.
Mandeep Singh survives an early chance! He pulls Mohit Sharma’s delivery and Dwayne Bravo in the deep drops a simple catch. Shaun Marsh gets a move on as he pulls a short delivery to the deep mid-wicket boundary.
Raina gets into the action! With his fielding this time! He throws himself at a ball to stop a boundary. Good over from Morkel, just two runs from it.
Mohit Sharma starts from around the wicket and Pomersbach creates room to hit him for a boundary through covers. But Sharma comes back well and knocks his off-stump over. Early wicket for Chennai here.
Punjab are off to a decent start as Mandeep Singh scored a boundary through covers. Eight runs come from the first over.

Centurion No 3 of IPL 2013! Suresh Raina slams an unbeaten 100 to guide Chennai to 186/4 . Raina’s century comes off just 53 deliveries. This has been a splendid effort with the bat from the home side. MS Dhoni will be happy with the score on the board. Punjab, on the other hand, have an uphill task ahead of them.
Albie Morkel perishes! He goes for a big one and gives a simple catch to David Miller at long-on. Awana’s good spell ends with a boundary from Ravindra Jadeja. He finishes with figures of two for 29.
Raina is clearly eying his century! He slams another six, this time over long-off. A splended diving effort from David Hussey in the field saved a certain boundary off the next delivery. Praveen Kumar conceded 11 runs off the over.

Suresh Raina is displaying the kind of form that’s almost impossible to play against. Sathish has the ball to face the brunt. Raina spots two back-to-back slower deliveries and hits two boundaries on either side of the wicket to bring up the 50-run partnership between Raina and Morkel. It has come off 27 deliveries. Morkel gets into the act in the final ball to hit a six over long off. This is not ending well for the visitors. The 150 is up for the home side.
Manpreet Gony endures a tough day as Suresh Raina hits two lovely identical sixes over long on. 16 runs come from the over. Ten overs ago, they were at 36 for one. 92 runs have come since then. Champion stuff from CSK, this.
Suresh Raina brings up his half-century as the batsmen extract nine runs from the over. The wickets column should have read four instead of three as Albie Morkel played a slog sweep straight to Mandeep Singh at deep square leg. However, Mandeep failed to hold on to it and Morkel survives to die another day.
The home side go past the triple figure-run mark. Raina is perfectly poised to take the home side to a decent total. The wicket is still very flat and nothing short of an absolute carnage should be on the cards. Eight runs come from the Awana over.
Massive, massive wicket for the Kings XI Punjab! MS Dhoni is gone! Rajagopal Sathish comes on to bowl and Dhoni plays it towards mid-wicket where there was no fielder. Sathish chased the ball and the batsmen decided to go for the second run. But Sathish’s throw at the striker’s end is good one and Gurkeerat Singh does well to uproot the stumps in a flash. Dhoni falls short of the crease. He goes for 2. But Raina is still undeterred. He slog sweeps Sathish towards the fine leg boundary.
Piyush Chawla gets rid of the orange cap holder! Chawla bowls a quicker one and Hussey comes down the track but misses it completely. Gurkeerat Singh finishes the formalities behind the stumps to send Hussey back to the hut. But the crowds erupt as skipper MS Dhoni walked out.Raina continues his carnage as he hits his trademark shot over over deep mid-wicket for a six. Nine runs and a wicket from that over.
Michael Hussey welcomes Manpreet Gony with a well-hit pull shot to the boundary. A couple of balls later he slams another boundary, pulling the ball behind square leg for a four. A single off the last over gives him a lead over Chris Gayle. He has the orange cap for now.

Raina finally takes the charge against David Hussey. David had done well so far but Raina slams him for 14 runs off his final over. Chennai reach 69/1 at the half-way stage.
The Kings XI Punjab are doing well to bowl their overs quickly here. Chawla gives away only six runs in his second over as the home side go past the 50-run mark.
This is smart stuff from David Hussey. He quickly finishes his third over and has conceded just 17. CSK need to get a move on.
Chennai take eight runs from the first over off Piyush Chawla. Hussey and Raina are slowly building the innings here. They take four singles and Raina lofts a poor delivery through wide long-off.

Punjab have started well given the weather conditions and the flatness of the wicket. They have given away just 36 runs.

Almost the second breakthrough! Suresh Raina, the new batsman hits the ball to Piyush Chawla at mid-on and takes a single. Chawla forces a direct hit and Raina dived in to complete the run. However, his bat was in the air and was saved by only his glove that was just in. David Hussey concedes just five runs in his second over.

Parwinder Awana comes on and strikes! Saha perishes trying to clear the square leg boundary but hits it straight to Shaun Marsh. This came after Hussey welcomed Awana with a boundary..Five runs and a wicket from Awana’s first over.
Saha welcomes Praveen Kumar with a six over square leg! That’s the first six of the match. Kumarpitches it short and Saha’s eyes lit up as there is no pace on the ball. Easy pickings for Saha. Kumar makes a good comeback with a beautiful slower one and almost deceives Saha into throwing his wicket away. However, too much width in the next ball helps Saha to score a boundary behind point. He follows it up with a hoick over the leg side to guide the ball to the deep square leg fielder for a couple. 12 runs from the over.
CSK 10/0 | Overs 2 | M Hussey 4*, Saha 6*
David Hussey brings himself on! The last time he bowled, he went for 27 runs in an over but he seems to have some plan in mind. He does well to give only seven runs away.
Good start by Praveen Kumar. He mixes it up very well. Wriddhiman Saha picks up a couple off the first and a single off the last ball of the first over.
Its the clash of the Husseys as Michael Hussey and David Hussey go up against each other for the second time in the tournament. Both have been crucial for their respective sides and it will be interesting to see if David can exact revenge. Eitherway, its all in the family.
Chennai retain the same side that beat the Pune Warriors India while the Kings XI Punjab have made two changes. Rajagopal Sathish has come in for Manan Vohra while Azhar Mahmood makes way for Luke Pomersbach.
