Marvel superheroes Iron Man and Spider-Man will make a special appearance at the Wankhede Stadium Saturday to cheer for Indian Premier League (IPL) team Mumbai Indians.

They will appear at the match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The superheroes’ fans at the stadium will be in for a treat as they will see Iron Man and Spider-Man shake a leg with the Mumbai Indians’ cheer leaders.

The buzz for Iron Man is at the peak with the release of Iron Man 3, which hit screens in India Friday, a week before the movie’s release in the US. Produced by Marvel and distributed by UTV Motion Pictures in India, the movie opened in India in IMAX 3D, 3D and 2D formats. The film has been dubbed in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.

As many as 15 brands are said to have associated themselves with the movie to cash in on its popularity. These include the IPL team Mumbai Indians, with whom a special range of Iron Man cricket merchandise has been launched; apparel tie-ups with Cotton World, Myntra, Bioworld, Zovi and Max; accessory tie-up with Titan for a special range of Zoop watches.

There’s also a ‘Back To School’ range of school products with Simba and HM international, while in the home space, the movie has a tie-up with D’decor. In terms of toys, brands like Funskool, Hasbro, Frank puzzles and Excel have associated themselves with the movie.
